Expertise:

  • Wetland Ecology
  • Aquatic Plant Ecology
  • Aquatic Invasive Species Control
  • Effectiveness Monitoring of Restored Aquatic Habitats
  • Water Quality

Professional interests:

My work at NOROCK will assist in the development, testing, and implementation of suppression strategies for aquatic invasive species. Our collaborative approach will combine rigorous experimental work and field trials to better understand the effects of individual and integrated suppression strategies on aquatic invasive species, non-target organisms, and ecosystem processes.

My other professional interests include documenting the interactive role of vascular plants in the nutrient cycling of wetlands; using macrophytes as bioindicators in freshwater ecosystems; documenting factors influencing the distribution and abundance of amphibians at high elevation sites (work focus at Crater Lake National Park); using data sondes to develop continuous estimates of nutrients and sediments in lotic systems.

Research:

  • American bullfrog suppression in the Yellowstone River floodplain. Project Summary
  • Effects of Ultraviolet-B radiation on survival of embryos and larvae in the federally-listed Woundfin. Project Summary
