Research & Outreach Interests:
I am interested in improving science literacy and comprehension by communicating technical scientific information in simple and approachable ways. I have several years experience working with Cooperative Extension and enjoy helping people answer the “So What?” question about scientific research.

My professional background is varied and has taken me from the Arctic Tundra to the forests of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. My love of plants has allowed me to classify forest types in Yosemite National Park, monitor riparian restoration efforts, delineate wetlands and diagnose pest and disease problems in vegetable gardens and farms in the Great Basin.
