Research interests:
My research focuses on the influence of climate variability and change on ecologically relevant aspects of the hydrologic regime. To address these issues I will build and calibrate a variable infiltration capacity (VIC) hydrological model for the North Fork of the Flathead and simulate hydrographs of naturalized streamflow. For model validation, I will compare the observed flows with the simulated flows. Specific questions that I plan to addresses include:
1. How do streamflow and temperature regimes change in response to a warming climate?
2. How well can VIC describe the stream hydrology in smaller streams located in the North Fork of the Flathead River?
